arrived safely, staying in a very nice apartment just off broadway…
Because eBay allows sellers to use JavaScript in their descriptions, sellers can do all sorts of dodgy things, such as making it appear as if they have more feedbacks than they do / making it appear that they are a Power Seller, etc…
An example (while it is up) is on this item
In the above example, a bit of code is inserted that changes the feedback value and adds the Power Seller icon – you’ll see the old values if you watch closely as the page loads.
Moral of the story – browse eBay with JavaScript turned off.
Why do these large sites not block JavaScript?!
just about to get our transfer back to salzburg airport.
done loads of skiing over the week, quite proficient now, tell all when we’re back!
well i’ve had me lessons now, and i can handle myself on an easy run. as ki is off piste, i’m doing it on my own, but i’ve met plenty of friendly scots and irish on the ski bus so not too bad.
skiing today at 2500m altitude on the kitzentstien glacier! great fun!
took some photees today but don’t think there is any chance of getting them on to the net before i come back… although its been pretty cloudy so not very many panoramic shots available.
ki seems to be getting by, but no doubt will get quite bored, so will have to try and think of fun things for us to do in the afternoons + evenings (she is insisting i ski in the mornings – awwwe). tomorrow i’ll probably go back to the glacier.. i need to try this über luncheon i saw some people having on monday – potato, bacon hash with a friend egg on top… mmmmmm.
found some new muscles today too! hopefully not too sore tomorrow, gonna check out the pool later, and maybe a sauna…
oh dear…
ki has fallen and done her knee in. while i was perfecting (yeah right) my snowplough turn (a big one at that) i heard a “weeeeeeeeeee” as ki sailed past to my left going pretty fast, and then i think she struck some hard bit of snow and lost control, and fell badly twisting her knee.
so we got a snowmobile ride back to the cable car station, where they loaded her on to a cable car in a wheelie chair and when we got to the bottom we took a ride to the local hospital where she had an x-ray and some medicines, and then out all in about 45 minutes! there’s something to be said for paid/private healthcare. not broken but maybe a pulled ligament…
poor ki.
hopefully it isnt too bad, but i think her skiing days are over for this holiday which is a real shame… i’m gonna do a bit more tomorrow, and then we’ll see how it goes
not taken any photos yet… willl take the camera out tomorrow, and perhaps find a way to download compactflash otherwise when i get back.
send some get wells to ki!
our instructor keeps telling us as we accelerate away from her….
we’re out in kaprun, austria right now – it’s incredibly beautiful – lots and lots of snow, big bad mountains, trees, cable cars and skiing folk.
got in very late on monday night, after a 90min transfer through sleepy villages and eerie forests. very pleased to find dinner wrapped up waiting for us in our room (which i might add is very very nice – gorgeous hot shower, his + hers sinks, balcony etc…) late to bed, and early to rise for day 1 of learn to ski.
boots, skis, poles, ski pass, tuition purchased at great expense and off to zellam-am-see (or something like that anyway) for some private tuition with a nice lady whose name i cannot pronouce, but it starts with V, so i shall call her valerie
)
we went up a little cable car to some nursery slopes where we spent a couple of hours perfect (attempt) snow ploughs and things.
this rocks! everyone should have it on their WordPress installation (it comes with it actually)
all you have to do is get a WordPress.com API key (register) and you can activate it.
nice!
i’m going skiing soon! sweeeet!
…
i cant ski!
any tips?
tasty new nike jordans

If you get the error “The directory name is invalid” what this might mean is in your PROPFIND response you have your D:collection on a separate line from D:resourcetype, when (as everyone knows) you should have it all bunched together so the code that some intern script kiddy wrote that uses lots of indexOf’s and substring’s will work.
Get with tha programmme!!!!
This gives me lots of confidence that any future XML I send will be promptly rejected with a completely useless error.
Hurrah!
